The MorphoFlow smart sun jacket is engineered for children navigating summer outdoor activities and frequent shifts between indoor and outdoor temperatures. It transitions traditional sunwear from passive coverage to active microclimate management. Developed with children’s physiological traits in mind, such as thinner skin, developing thermoregulatory systems, and a primary reliance on surface convection for heat dissipation, the garment draws inspiration from plant transpiration. It automatically adjusts breathability in response to changes in skin moisture. This design ensures reliable sun protection outdoors while efficiently managing heat during physical activity and maintaining core body warmth when entering air-conditioned spaces. The integration of the MorphoFlow dynamic ventilation structure across the back, forearms, and chest is inspired by the humidity-responsive opening and closing mechanism of plant stomata. This structure incorporates a patented humidity-responsive material to establish a "wet-open, dry-close" automatic cycle. The material undergoes controlled deformation upon contact with sweat, directly opening the airflow channels. Natural retraction seals these channels once moisture evaporates. The layout of airflow ducts in core sweat zones follows the Venturi principle for guided airflow, a configuration that accelerates air convection and heat dissipation. The deformation process simultaneously reveals clear textural changes. This garment constitutes the industry’s first children’s smart sun-protection jacket that delivers automatic ventilation adjustment alongside a fully visible operational status. Addressing the transition between outdoor heat and indoor air-conditioned spaces, the garment establishes a dynamic microclimate regulation mechanism. Under intense summer sun, the airflow channels open to accelerate surface cooling, a configuration that mitigates the risk of pediatric sunburn and heat stress. Upon entering cooler indoor environments, the natural closure of these channels blocks direct cold drafts. This sealing action prevents the discomfort associated with damp clothing in low temperatures, which maintains a consistently dry and comfortable wearing experience across varying thermal conditions. The autonomous regulation simultaneously reduces the caregiving burden on parents, a benefit that eliminates the necessity for frequent layer adjustments or manual sweat removal. The sun jacket’s pattern is engineered to accommodate children’s natural running and jumping motions, incorporating strategic ease that guarantees unrestricted limb extension.
