About The Entry

MAXXIS PREMITRA AP5 breaks away from the conventional all-season tire paradigm of “four straight grooves with high-density sipes” by adopting form reconstruction as its core design philosophy. It deeply integrates the high rigidity structure of summer tires with the snow traction geometry of winter tires, transforming the physical demands of tires under extreme climates into a unified design language. Through an innovative tread architecture, AP5 achieves a balanced performance across diverse weather conditions within a single product, delivering an efficient, safe, and highly versatile all-season mobility solution for users.

In its tread geometry, MAXXIS PREMITRA AP5 introduces an innovative matrix of large V-shaped main grooves interwoven with minimalist Z-shaped sipes. By significantly reducing the number of traditional dense sipes, the design creates evenly sized, highly rigid longitudinal tread blocks. Combined with full-edge chamfering and deeper groove structures, this geometric configuration effectively suppresses sudden tread block deformation during braking and cornering, enhancing both longitudinal and lateral support. It achieves a precise balance between traction, handling stability, and uniform wear, addressing the long-standing performance trade-offs of all-season tires at a structural level.

To maximize the effectiveness of its macro-level geometric structure, the project develops a multi-scale polymer composite architecture at the material level. By incorporating multi-functional modified SSBR and liquid BR to optimize molecular interface bonding, while combining silica fillers with different specific surface areas to establish a hierarchical reinforcement network, the tire further integrates a sulfur hybrid coupling system and high-low temperature composite resins. This sophisticated material strategy precisely balances tread rigidity and wet grip, providing exceptional deformation resistance and flexibility across a wide temperature range—from icy winter conditions to hot and wet environments. It represents a deep synergy between material engineering and structural innovation.

Powered by its innovative tread pattern and advanced material architecture, MAXXIS PREMITRA AP5 successfully achieves the stringent Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) certification, representing a significant advancement in snow traction performance. Wet braking performance improves by 10%, reaching the high European Class B standard, while dry braking performance increases by 3% and tread wear life improves by 6%.
