Xiangjiang Bay, Changsha

Located along the Xiangjiang River in Changsha, Xiangjiang Bay transforms its waterfront condition into a residential landscape where river, terrain, and dwelling are integrated. Guided by the concept “Bringing the River into the Garden, Living Above the Riverbend,” the design extends the river into the spatial system of the site.

The landscape is organized as a layered spatial sequence of curved paths, terraced platforms, and reflective water surfaces, creating an experiential journey shaped by changing elevation and framed views toward the river.

Water functions as the primary structuring element, defining circulation, spatial edges, and sensory continuity through canals, pools, and reflective surfaces.

Architecture, interior, and landscape are unified through a subtle geometric order and restrained material expression, allowing light, reflection, and topography to shape atmosphere.

The project redefines riverside living as a continuous spatial experience where nature and dwelling are seamlessly integrated within an urban residential context.
