Thistle & Bloom Boutique Hotel

Thistle & Bloom is a conceptual boutique hotel inspired by the fairytale world of Thumbelina, reimagining hospitality as an immersive narrative journey. Rather than functioning solely as a place of accommodation, the project transforms the guest experience into a sequence of emotionally charged spatial encounters that blur the boundaries between fantasy and reality.

Drawing from themes of fragility, wonder, transformation, and resilience found within the original story, the design unfolds through cinematic lighting, layered materiality, and carefully choreographed spatial transitions. Guests navigate a dreamlike environment where oversized botanical elements, hidden garden-inspired lounges, winding circulation paths, and intimate gathering spaces evoke the sensation of moving through a living fairytale.

At the heart of the project is a dramatic sunken lobby inspired by a floating lily pad, conceived as both a social hub and an experiential centerpiece. Guest rooms extend the narrative through custom furnishings, organic forms, and atmospheric detailing that reinforce the hotel's unique identity while maintaining contemporary standards of luxury hospitality.

Thistle & Bloom explores how storytelling can become an active design tool within hospitality environments, creating memorable emotional connections between guests and place.
