Puyuan Phase II, Beijing

Located in Beijing, Puyuan Phase II is a residential development by CSCEC. The landscape design is guided by the concept of “An Urban Wonderland,” responding to a low-density residential positioning. Drawing from the Wenyu River ecological corridor and surrounding woodland, the project establishes a living environment rooted in natural continuity and a quiet spatial atmosphere.

Inspired by the idea of “unadorned simplicity amidst mountains and forests,” the design translates Eastern landscape sensibility into a contemporary residential setting. Vegetation, water, and spatial organization work together to form a restrained and calm garden environment within the urban context.

The 40-meter-long south entrance gateway, defined by a 5-meter-high solid gable, establishes a clear spatial threshold. Water features on both sides extend the arrival sequence, where green islands and sculpted pines are arranged above the water surface, together with symmetrical lighting elements, shaping an orderly and transitional entrance experience from city to residence.

Within the site, variations in elevation create a layered spatial structure, where architecture and landscape are carefully coordinated to form a subtle sense of suspension above terrain and water. Foreground planting and spatial composition maintain continuity and a coherent garden atmosphere.

Selected planting with seasonal variation enriches the environmental experience and supports a sense of calm in daily living.

The project forms a residential landscape where woodland, water, and everyday life are integrated into a continuous spatial experience of calmness and retreat.
