Century Land Mansion, Zhengzhou

Located in the historic core of Jinshui District, Zhengzhou, the project targets urban elites seeking refined quality of life. Inspired by Zhengzhou’s millennia-old heritage and the poetic imagery of the Jinshui River—Clear Ripples on Jinshui—the design translates landscape and water narratives into a contemporary residential environment. Guided by the concept of Three-dimensional Landscape and Secluded Luxury, it forms a garden system of “Three Terrains & Ten Views,” integrating Central Plains cultural memory with a modern aesthetic language.

The architectural palette of champagne gold, off-white, and slate gray establishes a restrained luxury identity, while the landscape adopts a minimalist material and planting strategy to create a calm, elegant spatial atmosphere.

The site presents significant constraints, including a compact footprint without a clear central axis, extensive fire access requirements, and complex level changes (2m external, 1m internal, and a 7m sunken condition). The west side borders public green space, while the south interface is constrained by a metro station and a narrow entrance frontage.

The design transforms these limitations into opportunities by integrating fire lanes into multifunctional landscape spaces, using elevation differences to create sunken courtyards and layered water features, establishing a corner pocket park on the west side, and extending a 100-meter urban frontage along the southern green corridor to enhance visibility and identity.

Native and adaptive species such as Chinese tallow tree, hackberry, and red maple are combined with multi-layered shrub and groundcover systems to form a resilient, seasonal planting structure.

The project redefines the urban residential interface through a three-dimensional landscape strategy, delivering a premium, immersive living environment that embodies secluded luxury, ecological richness, and contemporary refinement.
