About The Entry
【Overview】
As a 3.0 concept store dedicated to Taiwanese pure tea and pot-boiled milk tea, the space breaks away from any conventional tea house. Drawing inspiration from the ambiance and craftsmanship of a craft beer bar, the design reinterprets Taiwanese tea culture. A bold stainless-steel island counter, oxidized copper accents, and warm wood tones establish a distinctive brand identity. Through an immersive spatial experience, the design celebrates the essence of Taiwan's slow-and-savor lifestyle. As customers wait for their drinks, they can savor the aroma of freshly brewed tea and appreciate the warmth and craftsmanship behind every cup.
【Concept】
The design draws inspiration from the tea extraction process. Tea leaves are steeped in water to release the compounds gently and slowly, creating an infusion. This slow, layered transformation is translated into a spatial experience, reflecting the harmonious blending of tea and milk. Layered geometric forms across the ceiling evoke the dynamic movement of the soaking of tea leaves in water. As copper oxidizes, it forms a protective film on the surface, echoing the gradual release of flavor as the tea is brewed and infused. Through the natural aging and transformation of materials, the design reflects the essence of Taiwan’s tea culture, celebrating patience and the passage of time.
【Innovation and Challenges】
Within the constraints of a long, narrow storefront, the design redefines spatial efficiency by weaving together tea brewing and ingredient preparation into an immersive experience, while ensuring a fluid circulation flow for customers. To maximize operational efficiency, an L-shaped island counter makes a streamlined workflow, while the open-plan layout allows customers to observe the tea-making process up close, transforming the brewing process into an integral part of the experience. Drawing inspiration from the dispensing system of a craft beer bar, the wall integrates the pre-brewed, temperature-controlled tea dispensing system behind the wall, exposing only the dispenser. This approach maintains a clean, uncluttered aesthetic while reinforcing the brand's distinctive identity.
