Cloud Beam

This project is located in Changyuan, Henan, known as the hometown of gen-tlemen. It uses the local cultural context and the Yellow River landscape as its design core, blending in modern oriental minimalist wood aesthetics. En-tering the indoor lobby, the curves reflect the flow of the Yellow River through Changyuan, using undulating lines to convey the grandeur of the poem 'The Yellow River comes from the sky.’ Paired with outdoor gray-blue bricks, placed stones, and misty landscapes, it creates a restrained and elegant gar-den-like ritual. Inside, light wood finishes form the base, soft lighting outlines the layers, and transparent shutters bring in natural light. Wooden cabinets and partitions simplify traditional forms, while warm materials lighten the space. The side panels of the spiral staircase are carved with wheat patterns, echoing Henan’s status as a major grain-producing area, em-bedding the agricultural heritage of the Central Plains into architectural details. The combination of dark and light wood, art carvings, and landscape stones ties the interior and exterior together, capturing the gentle spirit of a gentleman, the aura of the Yellow River, and the farming culture of the Central Plains in one space, achieving a harmony between regional culture and modern minimalist wood design.
