Enduring Ballad

The project is one of two units in a dual-aspect apartment layout, featuring an older property with an age of 17 to 18 years. The interior originally contained the owner’s past furniture and decor. Now that the residence is being handed down to the daughters, the aesthetic preferences and spatial planning inevitably required adjustments to align with modern trends and the lifestyles of the new occupants.

The designer retained the understated Eastern elegance inherent to the property, anchoring the theme with wood textures and artistic paint walls. By utilizing contrasting dark and light wood grains, layers of depth were introduced to the restrained, classical foundation, enhancing the visual richness. Furthermore, the designer preserved as much of the original furniture as possible, repurposing the pieces to become iconic style statements or inventive modern accents.

The entire project aims to balance classical and modern aesthetics. Beyond merging the two in large-scale furniture and spatial layouts, the designer collaborated with a soft furnishings team to bridge the gap between the two design styles using accessories, successfully unifying two generations' perspectives on the rebirth of an older home.
