About The Entry
Located in Tucheng District, New Taipei City, the project is a newly built residential apartment with an area of approximately 39.7 square meters, designed for a married couple. The original layout presented a long, narrow flow, low light in the social area, and problematic overhanging beams and pipes in the living room. Embracing an Oriental Zen style, the design team treated the residence as a minimalist canvas, using walnut wood, light cement coatings, timber grilles, and indirect lighting to sketch a harmonious, serene lifestyle.
A continuous sightline is maintained from the entryway to the living room, where the large beam behind the sofa is reimagined as a warm light box. The dining-kitchen area preserves flow flexibility through an embedded sideboard and folding dining table. Storage is optimized in the primary bedroom and walk-in closet, while the study combines workspace, video editing, and collection displays. This layout ensures that clothes, luggage, work, dining, and hobbies are all seamlessly accommodated within a compact footprint. Upon completion, the husband highly praised the functionality of the dining table, while the wife found her ideal space to curate personal decor, allowing the home to grow into a cozy sanctuary tailored uniquely to the two of whom live there.
