Sushi Tei Jawa

Inspired by the concept of “Japanese Modern and Cute” this project creates a welcoming dining environment that transitions gracefully throughout the day. Soft, muted tones establish a bright and calming atmosphere during daylight hours, while warm lighting transforms the space into an intimate and comfortable setting at night.

A custom designed petal shaped lighting feature serves as the focal point, guiding guests toward the sushi counter framed by a warm reddish-brown backdrop. The material palette is centered on this rich hue, complemented by deep denim inspired blue accents and the natural beige tones of oak grain and terrazzo. Slender wooden columns visually connect the interior to the open facade, expressing a harmonious relationship between the new design and the original architecture.

The ceiling incorporates a basket-weaving motif shared by Japanese and Indonesian craft traditions, creating a warm atmosphere that encourages gathering, connection, and memorable dining experiences among family and friends.
