About The Entry

Rooted in the urban context of Qingdao’s Shibei District, the project is located in a mature residential area with convenient transportation, complete urban facilities, and diverse lifestyle resources. The soft furnishing design draws inspiration from authentic contemporary living scenarios, focusing on the daily habits, emotional needs, and personal interests of residents across different age groups. Rather than following the standardized and decorative approach commonly seen in traditional show units, the design adopts the core concept of “reshaping space through circulation and serving life through scenarios,” placing human experience at the center of spatial organization.

The design redefines residential functions through the reconstruction of living circulation. Without altering the original architectural structure, flexible soft furnishings, furniture arrangements, and artistic elements are utilized to create diverse spatial experiences. The public area is transformed into a multi-layered social environment integrating storage, family interaction, gatherings, and moments of solitude. Private spaces are customized according to individual identities and interests, introducing dedicated scenes such as a tranquil master bedroom, a photography-inspired space for seniors, and an artistic learning environment for children. Each area responds to specific lifestyles while maintaining a unified aesthetic language throughout the residence.

A major challenge of the project lies in balancing diverse functional demands within limited spatial conditions. Through refined material selection, coordinated color palettes, and scenario-based furnishing strategies, the design achieves harmony between active and quiet areas, individuality and overall coherence. The entire residence avoids excessive decoration and instead creates warmth through carefully selected textures, proportions, and meaningful details.

Sustainability is integrated throughout the design process. Environmentally friendly materials, low-emission fabrics, natural elements, and reusable decorative components are adopted to reduce resource consumption and support healthy living. By maximizing the flexibility of soft furnishing systems and minimizing unnecessary renovation, the project extends the lifecycle of the interior environment. Through the integration of aesthetics, functionality, and emotional connection, the design creates a sustainable residential experience that adapts to evolving lifestyles.
