Zamami Island is one of Japan's premier destinations for diving and whale watching.

While the island offers many budget-friendly accommodations, this project reimagines an existing 17-room hotel into an intimate six-room boutique resort. Rather than increasing guest capacity, the design focuses on enriching the quality of each guest's stay, creating a more spacious, relaxing, and memorable experience.

The concept is "Slow Island Time."

The former lawn at the entrance has been transformed into a welcoming arrival space featuring a swimming pool, terrace, and landscaped approach. The adjoining restaurant serves dishes prepared with locally sourced ingredients, including Okinawan pork shabu-shabu, offering guests an authentic taste of the region.

In the morning, guests can enjoy a book beside the pool while feeling the gentle sea breeze. As the day fades, they can embrace the unhurried rhythm of island life, and at night, unwind on the rooftop beneath a sky illuminated by countless stars.

Designed as a small luxury retreat, the hotel invites guests to leave everyday life behind and immerse themselves in the tranquility, natural beauty, and slow rhythm of Zamami Island.
