About The Entry
Located in Guangzhou North Station TOD area, the project integrates the convenience of urban transportation with the cultural heritage and ecological characteristics of Lingnan. Inspired by Guangzhou’s identity as the “Four Seasons Flower City,” the design reinterprets traditional Lingnan aesthetics through contemporary landscape strategies, creating a refined living environment that connects culture, nature, and community.
Based on the concept of “Lingnan Style, Elegant Gathering of Scenery,” the landscape extracts the essence of Lingnan gardens — simplicity, elegance, and poetic atmosphere. Following the traditional front-and-back garden layout, the project establishes a layered homecoming experience through a carefully organized spatial sequence. Mountains, water, light, stones, forests, and flowers become the fundamental elements of the landscape composition, creating a poetic scene where courtyards embrace scenery and scenery exists within scenery.
The design develops six interconnected landscape realms, including mountain entry courtyards, flowing water spaces, cloud-shadow resting areas, flower gardens, forest islands, and oxygen-filled recreational zones. Through the combination of traditional Lingnan patterns, modern materials, and contemporary design techniques, cultural elements such as intangible heritage copper craftsmanship and regional window motifs are transformed into immersive spatial experiences.
The main entrance creates a ceremonial arrival sequence with a large-scale Lingnan-style gatehouse, while landscape walls, water features, and planting arrangements establish a tranquil transition between architecture and nature. Interactive children’s spaces incorporate Lingnan cultural elements and natural education, encouraging exploration and connection with the environment. Flexible exercise areas further enhance the vitality and inclusiveness of the community landscape.
Sustainability is integrated throughout the design. Sponge city strategies are introduced through sunken green spaces, rain gardens, and water management systems. Environmentally friendly and durable materials are selected to reduce resource consumption and ensure long-term landscape performance. Planting design considers future growth and ecological balance, creating a resilient landscape that evolves over time.
Through the dialogue between Lingnan heritage and contemporary living needs, the project transforms regional culture into a modern landscape experience, offering residents a harmonious environment where tradition, nature, and everyday life coexist.
