Cloud-Cradled Phoenix

Located within Phoenix Valley (Fenghuang Valley), Xiangshan Lake No. 1, Huafa, Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai, this residence takes shape around a central concept — Cloud-Cradled Retreat, Refined Elegance in Nature. Drawing inspiration from the mountain-and-lake landscape that surrounds the site, the design team employs a low-saturation, earth-toned palette and a restrained design vocabulary to cultivate an atmosphere of quiet depth and layered calm. Ornamentation is deliberately withheld; instead, texture is built through material, proportion, and the play of light and shadow. The result is a home suspended in balance — between contemporary refinement and the spirit of the natural world — offering both a life of quiet taste and a space for genuine rest.

The design is guided by the principle of "Square and Circle in Harmony" — clean, linear geometry establishes the overall spatial framework, while arched domed ceilings and rounded edges throughout the residence soften its contours, lending a smoother visual rhythm and easing the sense of density often associated with high-rise living. In material selection, the design draws on a carefully curated palette of natural stone — Misty Grey Marble, Yugoslavia White Marble, Champagne White Jade Marble, and Brazilian Snowflake White Marble — layered alongside wood elements. The interplay of varied textures and grains, built up in careful strata, expresses a refined and understated luxury. Floor-to-ceiling windows draw the mountain-and-lake views of Fenghuang Valley, along with natural light, into the interior; as daylight shifts from dawn to dusk, the space reveals a rich, organic layering of atmosphere, shaping a living experience that is both comfortable and deeply attuned to its surroundings. This project balances aesthetic refinement with long-term living quality: durable materials such as natural stone and woodwork enhance both spatial texture and the residence's longevity. Through expansive natural lighting and a design approach that draws the landscape directly into the interior, the surrounding scenery becomes woven into daily life, cultivating a bright and comfortable living environment.
