Modern cities are spaces dominated with concrete, built primarily for humans. Plants are stripped of their natural agency, reduced to silent decorative backdrops. Posthumanist thinking challenges humanity’s self-assigned central position. When we patronizingly overlook nature, might plants ‘look back’ at us?

AnthroPlant creates an ‘ecological translation theater’ that breaks the one-way gaze. In this space, humans are no longer detached observers but act as environmental variables—triggering microclimatic fluctuations by releasing carbon dioxide and heat—while the pothos enclosed inside the glass dome transform into perceiving subjects. When human activity outside disrupts the environment's equilibrium, the plants' latent slow-wave electrical potentials are triggered.This triggers projections of emotionally‑charged light patterns onto the glass enclosure.

The system collects real-time analog and digital environmental signals via Arduino. Quantified datasets are transmitted asynchronously to TouchDesigner through serial communication protocols. Tochdesigner dynamically parses the incoming data stream and maps data value as the control parameters for generative art. Finally, projection renders these dynamic artistic output onto the surface of physical installations.
