About The Entry

This scarf collection centers on the theme “a shared heritage of overland and sea routes, a rich tapestry of connected civilizations,” designed to bring the vibrant cultural exchange of the ancient Silk Roads to life. While most designs tend to focus on just one route, often resulting in fragmented expressions, this collection innovatively unites the overland and maritime routes within a cohesive narrative. Through a complete, dual-chapter structure, it illustrates the profound heritage of these two great arteries.

The designs feature camels and traditional Chinese sailing junks as the main visual symbols for the overland and maritime routes respectively. The composition is enriched with diverse cultural and historical elements from along the Silk Roads, including ancient architectural landmarks, merchant tools, traditional instruments, and porcelain. These are complemented by classic patterns from China and the Western Regions, as well as Dunhuang heritage decorations—all reimagined through a modern flat illustration style. A central triangular layout combined with layered patterns ensures the scarves look rich in detail while remaining balanced and orderly. The color story is distinct for each edition: the overland version features a palette of lavender, indigo, and soft pink to evoke the exotic mystique of the Western Regions, while the maritime edition uses cyan and pale green, echoing the elegance of blue-and-white porcelain and conjuring imagery of the vast, surging ocean.

Made in a classic square shape, these scarves are easy to style for everyday outfits and different occasions. They are also crafted using low-carbon, water-saving printing and dyeing methods, making them both eco-friendly and practical for large-scale production. Extending beyond fashion accessories, the same visual language flows into diverse cultural and creative items, such as calendars, puzzles, and notebooks, forming a highly recognizable product lineup that brings the millennia-old heritage of the Silk Roads into modern daily life.
