Wanda Realm Urumqi

The hotel looks directly out onto Bogda Peak in the Tianshan range, commanding views few other locations can match. The design speaks to discerning business travellers and those who expect more from a journey. Drawing on the natural character of the Tianshan as its foundation, it weaves a sense of occasion through the interiors and treats the landscape as an integral part of the experience. By layering the building's vertical spaces against the backdrop of nature, the design creates a refined retreat among the clouds — one that is unmistakably of its place yet thoroughly contemporary.The hotel design is centred on a profound sense of ritual and a deep integration with the landscape, distilling three core natural elements: the Tianshan snow mountains, flowing clouds and the snow lotus. Leveraging the sky lobby as a device for borrowed scenery, the project draws views of the Tianshan Bogda Peak and the city’s Golden Buddha spectacle into the interior sightlines, allowing the magnificent natural scenery to become an organic backdrop for the space. The interiors adopt a warm, refined tea-toned palette, combining crystal lighting with artistic screens to create a lightweight, transparent, suspended-living-room ambience, and cultivating a restrained, tranquil atmosphere of dwelling among the clouds. Through the dual interplay of the ground-floor lobby and the sky lobby, the design constructs a complete vertical spatial sequence, orchestrating a graduated experiential ascent from the ground to the clouds, and shaping an immersive guest journey imbued with a powerful sense of ritual.
