About The Entry
Wanda Realm Changchun builds on the theme of the “Spring City of the North,” with a modern-retro feel throughout. The design draws on Changchun’s three best-known identities — the “cradle of industry,” the “city of cinema” and the “Spring City” — turning these abstract images of the city into a design language you can see and touch. Following the idea of “culture at heart, experience first,” it avoids simply piling on motifs; instead, through a blend of materials, colour and light, the city’s memory is woven into the details of each space, so that the story of Changchun and the comfort of a stay come together. This fits the Wanda Realm vision of “drawing on local culture to create extraordinary journeys,” shaping a cultured city retreat that moves between past and present. The lobby, serving as the hotel's "first-impression space," is centered on the concept of a "city living room where time and space converge." Fullheight glass screens with a lenslike texture are used to delineate the reception area, the teabreak zone, and the lobby bar (integrated with a bakery). The industrial identity is expressed through darkgrey stone flooring, gearpattern artworks, and the like; the cinematic identity materialises as artistic pendant lamps in the form of film reels, and an "abyss mirror"(Infinity Mirror) installation that serves as a "Changchun" photocheckin spot; the Spring City identity is showcased by a greentoned wall painting of the Spring City on the backdrop of the service counter, complemented by partially drawn curtains. The water bar counter in the lobby bar interprets the frontface silhouette of a Jiefang truck, while classic car models are displayed on flower podiums. Overall, a retro tone is established through a palette of "warm white and bronze," so that guests, upon entering, immediately experience the solidity of industry, the romance of cinema, and the poetic charm of the Spring City.
