About The Entry

Shan shui — literally "mountain, water" — is the oldest genre of Chinese landscape painting. Ink & Mist completes the term with a pair of golf head covers: Shan Shui is the mountain, ink peaks and pine ridges dissolving into mist beneath a vermilion sun; Serene Lake is the water, a still expanse holding a lone boat and a lakeside pavilion. Rendered in monochrome ink gradations where mist is left as untouched space — the tradition of liubai — each composition is drawn for the cover's form: sun at the crown, ridgeline or shoreline through the body, mist fading at the hem. Printed on premium pebble PU leather whose grain gives the ink wash the tooth of xuan paper, with a soft protective lining and three fitted silhouettes for driver, fairway wood, and hybrid, the pair carries a centuries-old painting language onto the most visible object in a golfer's bag — not as decoration, but as a faithful study of the genre itself.
