About The Entry

MOL Asia Oceania's Level 14 workplace refurbishment transforms an existing unit into an expanded café and flexible training facility, supporting the organisation's continued growth and evolving workplace needs. Building upon previously completed workplaces across Levels 14 to 17, this expansion aims to enhance employee experience while strengthening collaboration, learning and connection through shared spaces.

As the organisation expanded, the workplace required more than additional capacity. The objective was to create shared spaces that encourage interaction across business units, support learning and provide greater flexibility for a variety of work modes. The design builds upon the original workplace concept, ensuring continuity while introducing a renewed spatial experience that reflects MOL's future aspirations.

Inspired by MOL's maritime heritage, the design extends the established visual language through fluid architectural forms, refined materiality and carefully integrated lighting. Existing furniture was thoughtfully retained and incorporated into the refreshed environment, reinforcing design continuity while supporting responsible resource use and extending the lifecycle of the workplace.

At the heart of the refurbishment is the reimagined MOL Café, conceived as a hospitality-inspired social hub that brings employees together through informal interaction, collaboration and shared experiences. Connected by operable walls, the adjacent training space seamlessly transforms from a dedicated learning environment into a townhall venue, enabling the workplace to adapt to changing operational needs while maximising spatial efficiency.

Supporting spaces continue this emphasis on flexibility and connection. A redesigned reception creates a welcoming arrival experience through soft curvilinear forms, while collaborative booths, informal meeting settings and an upgraded boardroom provide a diverse range of environments for focused discussions and everyday engagement. Throughout the workplace, integrated technology, acoustic performance and carefully considered planning enhance functionality without compromising openness or comfort.

The refurbishment demonstrates how thoughtful workplace design can extend the value of an existing environment while preparing it for future growth. By balancing continuity with innovation, the project delivers a flexible, hospitality-driven workplace that strengthens collaboration, supports evolving business needs and reflects MOL Asia Oceania's commitment to its people and long-term development.
