Crafted exclusively for the Rhône Valley Dry Red Wine, this packaging is centered around the core concept of “Terroir Visualization.” The wine’s unique charm originates from its complex geological ecosystem, composed of rock strata, slopes, alluvium, and pebbles. The innovative design translates this hidden and intricate natural terroir into an intuitive and tangible visual language, highlighting the product’s exceptional quality and profound heritage.

The design integrates the Rhône Valley’s defining geological structures into the wine label. Natural elements—wind, slopes, alluvial layers, pebbles, clay, limestone, and sandstone—are carefully deconstructed and restructured. This creates a vertically evolving narrative of a geological profile, guiding the consumer’s gaze downward as if embarking on a geological exploration. Notably, the pebbles are not placed randomly. Inspired by the dot-matrix logic of Braille, the design encodes readable information such as the wine’s name and region into these natural visual elements. This transforms the label from a mere artistic display into a decodable “geological archive.”

Drawing from the region’s pristine natural environment, the color palette features rock gray, sand orange, and terracotta red, corresponding to the rocks, topsoil, and sedimentary layers, respectively. These colors evoke the grounded and earthy texture of the local terroir. In terms of layout, the central information area follows the natural flow of the strata to create an intentional negative space. This allows the brand name to appear naturally embedded within the rock layers, ensuring high readability while perfectly maintaining the integrity of the artistic expression.
