Myers Residence — Sacred Geometry Mosaic Pool

The Myers Residence transforms a private swimming pool into a site-specific work of architectural mosaic art, developed directly from the geometry of the residence and pool.

Working in collaboration with Aquatic Consultants, Mosaicist Inc. created mathematical models of the actual architectural forms and mirrored those shapes into an original geometric composition. The result is a contemporary interpretation of the historic Cosmati tradition, in which small geometric forms are organized into intricate patterns.

Rather than competing with the modern architecture, the mosaic was intentionally designed in a restrained, light palette to create a subtle silhouette beneath the water. Shapes and angles drawn from the residence are repeated and transformed throughout the composition, allowing the pool to become a visual extension of the architecture.

The design was developed with careful consideration for changes in water depth, the concave pool floor and the magnifying effects of water, helping preserve the visual balance of the geometry once the pool was filled.

Designed, manufactured and installed by Mosaicist Inc., the completed work combines mathematical precision, traditional mosaic craftsmanship and contemporary architectural design to transform a functional swimming pool into an immersive work of aquatic art.
