About The Entry
Inspired by two oriental classics, the vow of Ananda on the stone‑bridge and Xi Murong’s poem A Tree in Blossom, this piece interprets an eastern philosophy of love that asks for no possession. Love may trap the soul in obsession, yet it can also lead to spiritual awakening and nirvana.
Crafted entirely with Yun‑Long Silk, the artist’s patented hand‑wrought gold technique innovated from traditional Chinese filigree. Impossible for machine production, the artwork takes hundreds of working hours to complete. Countless fine gold wires are forged, shaped and welded to weave the net of love enclosing a maiden’s face. Flowing metal strands break free from the net, symbolizing liberation from obsession.
Rejecting bright red coral, soft angel‑skin coral embodies youthful innocence. Scattered rubies stand for tears of longing. Blending Buddhist allusions, modern poetry and oriental gold‑craft heritage, it transcends ordinary jewelry into wearable philosophical art for collection.
