About The Entry

Powder Room reintroduces the glamour of the classic supper club through a contemporary lens, transforming a discreet second-floor venue in Toronto's Yorkville neighbourhood into an immersive destination where fine dining, live entertainment, and nightlife converge. Conceived as an environment rather than simply a restaurant, the project responds to a gap in Toronto's hospitality landscape by creating a space that is equally suited to an intimate dinner, a live musical performance, or a late-night celebration. The venue deliberately rejects traditional boundaries between restaurant, cocktail lounge, private club, and nightclub, allowing the atmosphere to evolve throughout the evening. This concept is central to both the programming and the design.

The 4,000-square-foot interior is intentionally concealed behind a secret elevator accessed through an office lobby, reinforcing the project's philosophy of discovery and exclusivity. Once inside, guests encounter a carefully orchestrated environment built around a circular spatial concept that encourages movement, exploration, and interaction.

Materiality plays a defining role in establishing the venue's identity. Rich velvet seating, marble accents, jewel-toned furnishings, Dolce & Gabbana wall coverings, Kelly Wearstler upholstery, and warm, low lighting create an atmosphere that feels simultaneously cinematic and intimate. Rather than relying on minimalism, the design embraces layering, texture, and visual abundance to reinterpret old-world luxury for a contemporary audience.

Artistic interventions are integrated throughout the interior. An original Banksy, Monkey Queen, is embedded within a wall along the powder room corridor and intentionally positioned away from the primary gathering spaces. The powder rooms themselves become design destinations, with each stall conceived as an individual vignette featuring distinctive materials and detailing.

By combining hospitality, art, entertainment, and design into a single experience, Powder Room reimagines the contemporary supper club and establishes a distinctive new model for luxury nightlife in Toronto.
