2026 TAITUNG EXPO [Baseball on Red Clay]

“Baseball on Red Clay” was developed through field research across schools and Indigenous communities in Taitung, where baseball functions as part of everyday life, education, and local culture rather than only competitive sports. Responding to changing audience behaviors and immersive media trends, the exhibition combined historical archives, documentary film and spatial storytelling to reinterpret Taiwanese baseball history through collective memory and public participation. The project reflects the applicant’s vision of reconnecting local culture, education, and contemporary audiences through exhibition design.

“Baseball on Red Clay” is a 300-ping (approx. 1,000 m²) immersive exhibition at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, combining archives, documentary film, projection, VR, and interactive experiences to present Taitung’s baseball culture and educational legacy to broad public audiences.
