About The Entry

Inspired by the iconic butterfly motifs found in Qing Dynasty imperial porcelain, the collection reinterprets traditional court aesthetics through a contemporary jewelry language. It draws on imperial purple, vivid red, and sapphire blue—colors deeply rooted in Eastern cultural imagery—and recombines them through refined proportions, materials, and finishes. In this way, the classic motif moves beyond static ornamentation to become a light, expressive element designed for everyday wear. The collection features Decheng’s proprietary Jinchuang craftsmanship, combining traditional visual heritage with contemporary jewelry techniques. Movable and rotatable structures bring the butterfly to life, transforming its wings from static decorative elements into dynamic components that respond subtly to the wearer’s movement. This interaction gives the jewelry a sense of vitality while adding a distinctive layer of craftsmanship and functionality.Brilliant stones are set into the butterfly wings, creating a refined interplay of light and reflection. As the wearer moves, color, structure, and light shift together, revealing different visual dimensions of the motif. The design captures the lightness of the butterfly while expressing the Eastern aesthetic values of balance, restraint, subtlety, and poetic beauty.Rather than simply reproducing a traditional symbol, the collection translates the cultural meaning of the butterfly motif into a contemporary context through color, craftsmanship, and kinetic structure. Heritage is no longer confined to objects of observation or collection; it becomes an experience that can be worn, perceived, and expressed in everyday life. Through this approach, the collection creates a contemporary form of Eastern elegance while carrying the cultural character of traditional artistry into the present.
