About The Entry
As people age, cooking independently can remain an important part of everyday life, yet balancing ingredients, nutrition and personal dietary needs may become more difficult. U5 brings practical nutrition guidance into the familiar cooking process, helping older users make better decisions while preparing their own meals. Ingredient information, personalised meal planning and cooking suggestions provide timely support before and during cooking, making everyday food choices easier to understand and manage. The design supports greater independence in the kitchen while giving family members an appropriate way to stay informed about dietary conditions.
U5 has a low, rounded rectangular body measuring 700 × 565 × 74 mm. A broad dark-glass surface integrates the touch interface, preparation area and cooking zones into a continuous worktop, while a slightly raised metallic section creates a clear visual hierarchy. A silver frame follows the softened perimeter and incorporates pull-out storage beneath the surface. Recessed finger pulls keep the front clean and visually uninterrupted. Frosted glass, 316L stainless steel, heat-resistant ABS and aluminium alloy form a restrained black-and-silver material palette suited to the contemporary home environment.
During meal preparation, the full-touch surface displays ingredient and nutritional information, helping users understand what goes into a meal before cooking begins.
Personalised meal plans and cooking suggestions take health conditions and dietary preferences into account, offering guidance on ingredient combinations, portions and preparation methods.
Integrated cooking zones provide guided cooking and quick defrosting, allowing users to move smoothly from planning and preparation to heating on the same worktop.
A pull-out draining basket and accessory drawers keep interchangeable shredders and preparation tools organised, while the connected app allows selected dietary information to be shared with designated family members.
U5 integrates nutrition guidance directly into the physical workflow of preparing a meal. Ingredient information and personal dietary needs remain available at the same place where users select portions, prepare food and cook, allowing recommendations to inform decisions as they are being made.
