About The Entry

Rizla ‘There’s only one’ limited edition was created to celebrate Rizla and it's history. The brand that others imitate, but none can replicate - reasserting Rizla’s leadership in rolling culture, and the history that comes with it.

Rizla is more than the original rolling paper brand. It is the brand that created the category, shaped the culture and established the standards that others continue to follow.

Since 1796, Rizla has led the world of rolling papers, yet for many younger consumers, its heritage risked being perceived as history rather than leadership. This limited-edition pack was created to reclaim that narrative.

The idea was built around a simple, confident truth: There's only one Rizla.

Rather than relying on nostalgia or celebrating heritage through traditional visual cues, we transformed the pack itself into a conversation. The front of the pack carries the statement "There's only one Rizla", expressed through a typographic hierarchy in which the Rizla branding progressively reduces in size. This subtle design device reinforces the message visually, guiding consumers to a single conclusion: there has only ever been one original.

The interaction continues once the pack is opened.

Inside, consumers discover the statement "Been rolling since 1796", revealing the proof behind the claim. What begins as a contemporary expression of confidence becomes a reminder of Rizla's pioneering role in creating and defining the category. The interior transforms heritage from a historical fact into a powerful statement, connecting centuries of expertise with today's rolling culture.

To extend the experience beyond the physical pack, a QR code was integrated into the inner design. This directed consumers to a dedicated digital destination where Rizla's story could be told in greater depth, allowing the brand to be experienced beyond the constraints of packaging.

Every aspect of the design was intentionally stripped back to focus on one powerful message. The result is a limited edition that does not simply commemorate a milestone; it reasserts leadership.

In a category filled with imitators, the pack reminds consumers of a simple reality. Rizla wasn't just first.

There's only one.
