About The Entry
This project is the design of the immersive cultural and tourism street district 'Seeing Helan.' It is based on the regional culture of Helan in Ningxia, blending the nomadic scenery of the frontier with the bustling atmosphere of the Tang Dynasty. The architectural forms draw from local styles like northwest rammed earth walls, grass-roofed houses, and nomadic tents, paired with Tang-style wooden shops and interconnected streets. Various spaces such as ancient markets, tribal camps, and outdoor performance areas are arranged in a staggered layout.
The scene includes realistic props like camel caravans, folk vendors, and ancient courier gates, recreating the life along the Silk Road. During the day, it shows the rugged and simple texture of desert settlements; at night, rows of red lanterns highlight the grandeur of Tang-style festivities. The overall design reflects Ningxia's multi-ethnic characteristics without rigidly copying ancient buildings. Through immersive scene building, nomadic tribes and border trade shops are linked into an interactive walking route, allowing visitors to stroll through the streets and truly feel the lively, multicultural atmosphere of the Tang frontier at the foot of the Helan Mountains.
