The Lantern Festival is one of the traditional Chinese festivals, and every family will participate in activities related to "light." This work was invited by the local government to be the welcoming light for the event. The overall work uses the name of the exhibition area " Butterfly with Flowers" to extend the impression of "peacock, flower, and butterfly." Combined with the mechanical technique, the result is an eye-catching work of both brilliance and quality. In the end, a three-minute performance of the peacock, hoping that the visitors can feel happiness and surprise. The Lantern Festival is the first full moon night after the Chinese New Year, and it symbolizes the arrival of spring. The lanterns are also a custom that has been passed down from ancient times to the present. To welcome the New Year and the local people, the artwork chooses flowers in full bloom to welcome the arrival of the New Year, and the flowers and butterflies are chosen to represent the unique species of the local culture. The kapok and hibiscus that grow in Kaohsiung and the paulownia that symbolizes the Hakka nationality are strewn on the vase, attracting butterflies with their fragrance. The butterflies are endemic to Taiwan, presenting the image of blossoming flowers and prosperity and attracting the king of flowers, the peacock, to enter this world filled with flowers and fragrance. When the music is at its most majestic, the peacock spreads its tail feathers with great power, symbolizing nobility and beauty, and good fortune. The overall performance is full of tension in both visual and sound performance. The design team integrates local culture and historical context in the selection of materials and is brave to break the limits of lantern performance. Moreover, the blessing is hidden in the work by the technique of mechanics, hoping the visitors can feel beauty and happiness during the epidemic.
