Near-Zero Carbon and Sustainable Development Community

Near-Zero Carbon and Sustainable Development Demonstration Community is a low-carbon demonstration area located in Shenzhen. It applies the sustainable development model of "low-carbon +" new industrial city. Following the concept of "people-centered", the community includes many sectors such as clean energy, green buildings, and resource reuse. Energy renewal, environmental renewal, high-quality urban renewal will be achieved. The advanced concept of environmental protection and energy conservation has contributed a new idea to the joint construction of a community of human and natural life, playing an excellent demonstration role in building a community in the new era. Kejiawei Village, built in the Qing Dynasty, has a history of more than 200 years and has a high historical and cultural significance. In the rapid process of urbanization, traditional villages are gradually declining. The design retains the ancient traditional architecture, and re-plans the traditional lifestyle and production combined with modern technology. The collision of tradition and modernity has brought out the atmosphere of a high-tech-ish community. The environment of the community has been effectively improved, and the life quality of the residents has been greatly improved. The community established a multi-dimensional interactive model consisting of residents, families, and communities. It is led by the "Cloud Carbon Smart Center" and focuses on cloud carbon smart platforms, clean energy, green travel, green building, resource reuse. Through real-time monitoring of carbon distribution and emissions, Cloud Carbon Smart Center visualizes carbon footprint and carbon emissions, and it provides residents with carbon-saving solutions suitable for their own family. Near-Zero Carbon and Sustainable Development Demonstration Community has acieved significant results since its establishment: it can achieve an average annual power generation of 540,000 kWh and reduce carbon emissions by 421 tons; it can achieve a total annual carbon reduction of 351.04kg/a for a family of three; garbage recycling and green travel facilities reduce carbon emissions by about 80 tons. This project provides a multi-dimensional carbon saving model from residents, families and communities, accumulating experience in the construction of zero-carbon communities and zero-carbon cities, and provided a high-quality demonstration for exploring the construction path of "new cities".
