Beijing C-Land Great Habitat Link

The project is located in Shunyi District, Beijing, which is a growing town near the Capital Airport. With a building area at about 20,000 square meters, the commercial hub is positioned as a "small and beautiful" community-based shopping center integrating catering, retail, leisure and entertainment and other stores. Perform Design aims to take into account commercial functions and community demands, starting from the multi-dimensional link between people and communities, people and buildings, and tries to organically combine commercial space, neighborhood interaction space and community activity space to create a community social hub that serves the surrounding residents.



In the architectural design, a three-story-tall side atrium space is inserted to face the city street. The transparent facade blurs the boundary between indoor and outdoor, allowing the indoor crowd to have a friendly interaction with the city, and at the same time, it can attract the flow of people from the city street. The upper floors of the shopping center accommodate various venues of catering and children's leisure activity, and these functions are arranged around the side atrium space. The side atrium is created as a relaxing leisure space where people gather and social with each other, and functions as a community living room. Terrace spaces at different elevations break the otherwise monotonous floorplates and provide a good outdoor place for people to hang out. A green rooftop garden provides much needed community sport space.



The building facade is made of off-white stone and glass curtain wall as the main materials. A large number of gray spaces and a clear orange-red curved ceiling are set up along the street interface. Combined with lighting effects, it presents a colorful and diverse visual experience to the incoming clienteles. The shape of the curved surface also enriches the concise architectural form and brings a rich spatial experience to the crowd.
