Haimen Days Hotel

With the Yellow Sea to the east, Haimen City has abundant water resources and a highly distinctive river & sea culture. The site is a long strip surrounded by time-honored scenes of the city in varied and complex structures. To the north and east of the site are existing hotels and residences, to the west is a green belt of the city, and to the northwest is the city’s landmark “Haimen Star”. Since the surroundings are mixed, the architects consider the design of Haimen Days Hote as an opportunity to sew the spaces and create a visual center that stands out with a fascinating overall look.

The structure is located along the city’s main road on its north side, with the soaring tower as its visual center. It is staggered east-west to create angles, which is a special design echoing the image of a highway intersection and adding to the diversity of shapes in the building. The staggering, rotating and changing horizontal lines, plus the rich facade effects, make it a landmark for the area. With the theme of “urban sailing”, the structure fully embraces Haimen’s river & sea culture and features the function of “city resort”. In response to the city park to its west, the structure provides shaded urban interfaces along the main road, combining architectural elements and greenery. You can enjoy a slow and casual lifestyle in a business atmosphere.


The tower’s shape as a whole is simple and elegant. The façade consists of glass curtain walls, which are decorated with silver-white aluminum panels hanging as horizontal lines to emphasize minimalism. The 90-degree twist of the horizontal lines between the floors creates a texture full of flexibility, which also produces subtle shadow changes in sunlight. In summary, the horizontal lines are designed to add floating and horizontal extensions to the structure, while the partial twists to make the facade dynamic.
