Lishan Guguan Light Art Festival

Two giant cedars light up in front of historic Lishan Guest House to kick off the “Lishan Guguan Light Art Festival” on Dec. 1, 2022 in Taichung City, central Taiwan.

To promote Taiwan's tourism in the global community, so as to attract more foreign visitors to the country and increase tourism revenues, Tri-mount National Scenic Area administration, Tourism Bureau, MOTC held “Lishan Guguan Light Art Festival” with the idea of "the highest Christmas trees in Taiwan."

High up on the mountain ridge, two 28-meter-tall cedars tower over Lishan Guest House. These are the most elevated Christmas trees in Taiwan. And in valleys all around, artistic light shows make a winter wonderland of the countryside. Their blinking colored lights are an unforgettable sight. At the same time, the highest church in the country “Lishan Jesus Church” has been renovated, and it has been dyed with colorful lights to complement the Christmas tree. It’s officially completed and opened on December 2 when the big bell is ringing, and it will become a new landmark of Lishan tourism.



Lishan Guguan Light Art Festival takes “Brightening Lishan” as the theme to create two cedar trees, with the starry sky as the background color, surrounded by hanging string lights along the cedar tree shape, create the appearance of falling snow in winter with icicle lights, and the round light balls create a Christmas atmosphere in the northern country. The main light show and music show the excitement of the lantern festival. In addition, Guguan Hot Springs Park has also been decked out in hundreds of LED lights in romantic designs, to the delight of tourists. The colorful rainbow path was full of dreamlike atmosphere. The Festival of Lights can continue the upsurge of international travel, so that people can experience the Christmas atmosphere without rushing to go abroad.
