Yingde Jiqingli Tea House

Jiqingli Tea House is located in Jiqingli Black Tea Valley, Yingde Town, Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province, China. It has a natural environment with tranquility and freshness and with a long history of tea producing and tea culture.

The design of the tea house extracts the pictographs of the three spatial subjects of "people, tea and mountain" and determines the three modal prototypes of "postures of people standing, curves of a ridge and the harmony spirit of Chinese tea". The facade form creates the spatial transparency of traditional oriental aesthetics through steel structure and toughened glass. The spatial layout of the tea house refers to the spatial experience of the traditional Chinese landscape painting "Autumn Scenery of Rivers and Mountains", and attempts to restore the paths of the mountain and the water lines in the three-dimensional space of this painting.

This project is designed to local conditions, and built according to the height difference of the tea mountains. Besides, following the four standards of doing traditional Chinese landscape paintings---- "walkable, watchable, livable, and tourable", the design team sets up the functional paths of " tea touring, tea plucking, tea processing, tea scenting, tea tasting, tea enjoying and tea displaying”, which integrates the mountains, water and tea to form a space with life characteristics and links up the most beautiful scenery of the tea field. It leads everyone who walks into the scenery to encounter the greenery full of lushness and experience the original ecological idyllic life.
