East Library of the Shanghai library

East Library of the Shanghai library, covering a building area of 115,000㎡, is the the largest library in terms of single building area at present. It is an intelligent and complex library integrated with books literature information resources, science and technology innovation research and development resources, social science think-tank research resources, and Shanghai local research resources in the area of general reading. The whole building gives people the most direct feeling of freedom and opening. Lighting design is to reflect the healthy reading light environment, the combination of natural light and lamp light, and the integration of light and space.

Healthy reading light environment: In the design process of the project, we always adhere to the LEED certification standard for lighting design, fully consider the human biological rhythm of library readers and staff, the impact of healthy light on mood and eyes, and the full use of daylight lighting.

Combination of natural light and light: The atrium of the library is a glass curtain wall structure with good skyline vision and natural light conditions. Therefore, we fully consider the combination with lighting fixtures and control systems in the design process to create a "natural light reading" light environment in the office, so that it can achieve the purpose of energy saving, improving work efficiency and personnel satisfaction.

Light and space: In the whole building space, we first provide a higher and more uniform lighting level on the horizontal plane to enhance the light in the key areas, and then we use the method of washing the wall on the facade to enhance the spaciousness of the space, so that the whole space impression tends to be pleasant, clean, bright, large and spacious. For complex ceilings, we use a variety of lamps for special design, reflecting the three-dimensional sense of the ceiling and the essence of interior design.
