Yuán róng（Meaning-Harmonious)
The apartment owners are an expat couple who are fascinated by Eastern cultures; their collection of art pieces from China, Japan and other Asian regions attest to that. To create a home that reflects their background and interests, the design team has incorporated both European and Oriental styles in the interiors for a unique, sophisticated ambience. This meant redesigning the layout and using different materials and elements, such as rattan lampshades and headboard, wooden and mosaic floorings, and elegant doorway arches that evoke a classic Western look. The hallway doubles as a gallery to showcase the couple’s favourite paintings, while the study and master bedroom take on a more minimalistic design with refined touches like artisan doorknobs from their collection. The result is a cosy, tasteful home full of character and personality.
