Piet Mondrian, the Neoplasticism artist, once said:” The vertical and horizontal lines convey the power of two opposing forces, dominating everything everywhere, and correspondingly constitute ‘life.’ I found that in nature, if any specific aspects can achieve the balance, it definitely relies on its coordinating opposite.”To combine with the concept, we did our best to make the design more aesthetic.
In Mondrian’s paintings, he only used two primary directions (horizontal and vertical), primary colors (red, blue and yellow), and three primary values (black, white and gray.) We tried to extend the original 2D into 3D, so we colored the walls and floors to make it look like a fantastic art work.
As for the pattern distribution of the space, we had the laminates interlaced, and the color tone gradually changed from cold to warm, which leads people to look forward to the landscape. In the lobby, we elaborately decorated it with drooping banana leaves, the moon-shaped ceiling lamp, and a verdant counter. When it couples with people, it seems to be an epitome of modern jungle.
The space is made up of fun, meaning, aesthetics, and childlikeness. To make the interior design more than just the division of materials and space, we integrated the materials, colors and aesthetics of life, giving the space an independent spirit.
Because of the combination of life philosophy and colour in the interior design, people in it can feel the magical power brought by art.
