Longnan Yuzitan Hakka House Resort Cluster Phase I Project

The project is located in Longnan, the southernmost city of Jiangxi Province in China. This thousand-year-old ancient city is an important gathering place for Hakka people, where sited hundreds of the Hakka enclosed houses. So the city is known as the home of Hakka enclosed houses in the world. The enclosed houses, shaped like ancient eastern castles, integrate residence, ancestral hall, council hall and other spaces. Inspired by the characteristics of ancient Hakka houses and through the integration of eastern aesthetics and Western design language, this project is to create a relaxing resort with Hakka cultural customs for exhausted and busy urban people.

The design team draws inspiration from the architectural form of Hakka houses and the spirit of gathering in Hakka culture and finally comes up with the innovative structure of big enclosure and small enclosure. The structure of homestays is mostly square and the walls, made of triad soil, show the texture of grass ash. The old blue bricks and Chinese style doors add natural and simple charm to the homestay. When visitors walk through different areas, they can immerse themselves in the century-long neighborhood relationship in the enclosed houses and the unique charm of Hakka culture.

Considering the multi-function request for homestays and adhering to the people-oriented concept, the design team not only reasonably conceives the spatial movement line of the service area, but also carefully polishes the details of each functional area, committed to making visitors have the best living experience. In addition, there are tea rooms, cafes, restaurants, outdoor swimming pools, cultural and creative halls and other facilities to best meet the personalized needs of tourists.
