Emerald Luxuriance

Architecture is a representative role of the city; it is a container that provides people with living and working. Meanwhile, a city requires impressive architecture, as a business card, to reveal its distinctive character, just like a person needs a stylish outfit. This project locates at the intersection of the arterial roads in the South District and where MRT green line passes in Taichung. Additionally, it is noteworthy that Taichung is growing following TOD development. Therefore, we hope the project will infuse thriving vitality into Taichung City. The building resembles floating blocks stacked in the sky, as white rectangular frames adorned with flourishing greenery. We are not only creating a verdure feature in the concrete jungle but also establishing a magnificent city landmark.



This project is a TOD (transit-oriented development) building that follows global urban development patterns. Linking the residence with commercial spaces, and an MRT station, the transit-oriented project encourages people to ride mass transportation instead of private vehicles to enhance the environment, transportation, and amenities. With stores and apartment buildings around and the public facilities associated, the construction plot location is comprehensively convenient. In addition, the building facade takes advantage of the greenish touch inspired by Wenxin Forest Park. We will use the earth tone and wood grain schemes to integrate with large living walls, an outdoor terrace, and rooftop gardens. Thus, prosperous energy complements the entire building. Besides, the modern white rectangular frames symbolize city blocks with graceful rhythm. We took the image of the jute weaving that is a local manufacture, and the geometric patterns as the prominent feature. Finally, urban fashion and artistic culture interpret the concept “Emerald Luxuriance, Lungs of Nantun Dist.” and deliver it through architecture.
