“Opticnoir” — After the homeowner purchasing this 25-year-old residence, we embraced the artistic concept of Pierre Soulages, especially his ‘Outrenoir’ series, as a guiding principle in our design discussions and proposals. In this space, black transcends its role as a mere background color to become an optical medium, masterfully refracting, absorbing, and reshaping light to add a special depth of sensation to the living experience. Through the varied layers of black, we have crafted a space that is both modern and warm. From the curved design of the wall extending to the ceiling to the precise lighting setup, every detail has been meticulously planned to guide the visual flow while ensuring that large storage units integrate seamlessly into the space. In terms of furnishings, we opted for velvet seats and deer-shaped lighting fixtures, adding vibrancy and a luxurious touch to the space. Each detail narrates the harmonious coexistence of art and life, transforming this area into a stage where art and optics intertwine with everyday living.
