Chasing Light

The site is an old apartment. The name of the project, "Chasing Light", implies that the space shows interesting changes according to the angle of light and shadow. The design team observed that the slanting angle of daylight into the space is very comfortable and pleasant, so they used a variety of design techniques to bring out the light more dimensionally and naturally. According to the spacing of curtains, the turning of walls, and the reflection of mirrors, light expresses a variety of fascinating looks. Next, the curves add a casual atmosphere to the Japanese-style home. There are curves on different axes that follow the movement of the scene to form an extension effect and also create an open look. Lastly, the wooden louvers make the distinction between light and shadow more vivid. The sunlight is staggered to illuminate the interior, writing the rhythm of life.

The Zen color, the warmth of the wood veneer, and the warm grey enhance the artistic atmosphere of this project. With a few green plants, the light and shadow are not only intertwined by the wooden veneer but also by the shadows of people and trees, creating a variety of daily life.
