Zhu Guangyu Hot Pot Restaurant Space Design

A restaurant is not only a dining place, but also a social place. Adhering to the design concept of "flirting with space", we integrated the warm urban elements of the Chongqing factory family courtyard in the 1980s into the restaurant by using cement, ruined walls, colors and other various elements. Images of daily life convey thoughts on life, emotions and interpersonal relationships, creating a restaurant environment filled with a sense of healing, where customers can relieve their fatigue, share the pleasure of delicious food with friends, and talk about childhood memories and news at the moment, allowing every customer to have an unforgettable experience in the short time of dining.

In this unique space, the old-school Chongqing urban beauty and the Suzhou-style garden aesthetics complement each other, and the enthusiasm of Hong Kong style flows in every inch of the space. The traditional eaves arches, the warm lantern halo and the texture of retro tiles are cleverly blended, and the light signboard is set against the eye-catching red acrylic board, injecting the vitality of modern trends into the entire hotpot restaurant. The garden-style approach of "one step at a time" breaks the tradition and makes every corner mysterious and fascinating. The special "bridge corridor" design cleverly connects the private rooms and lobby area of the store. This is not only a tribute to Chongqing as a bridge city, but also a collision of multiple cultures, allowing diners to feel blending beauty of different space at the the moment crossing the bridge corridor.

We use ingenious techniques of retreat, sinking and elevation to give the space more layers and make the entire space present an uneven beauty. The store-within-a-store design not only allows customers to marvel at the surface, but also arouses their curiosity about the interior of the hotpot restaurant. The unique and innovative water drop private rooms, fish tank private rooms, bougainvillea at the door, and fake two-story design break the deadlock of traditional restaurant design. At the same time, the design team cleverly preserved the boundaries between private and public spaces.
