LONGFOR JINDI TIANFENG PEAK RESIDENTIAL PROJECT

Guangzhou Longfor Jindi Peak Residential Project is located at Panyu Bus Terminal in Guangzhou. The project is part of the TOD complex with residential towers situated directly on top of the Bus Terminal on the roof level. The site sits on top of the transport hub of the TOD complex, therefore the design calls for "a secret garden closest to the starry sky". We wish to create a sanctuary where the residents would be reminded of their beautiful memories and captivated by emotional resonance to nature.



The unique setting of the community provides an intriguing opportunity to create a quality landscape sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Being in the the urban environment, everyone seeks for an ideal secret garden in their pursuit of refuge - embracing the boundlessness of the starry sky and watching the waterfalls in the greenest valleys. Being away from the ordinary daily life on the ground, the rooftop becomes a reverie of urbanity and a special place to reflect upon ourselves.



The design unifies spaces into layers of function zones and connects thematic nodes to create diversification of human experiences. The inner ring becomes the focal landscape garden. The middle ring connects the residents to and from their residences to the garden. The outer ring buffers the outside world and the noises generated from the city.



In order to maximize immersion of the secret garden experience, the design uses landform, planting and structures to create themed spaces such as the forest, the cloud and the cliff, orchestrating three different spiritual journeys in search for the starry sky. There are three themed journey spaces - "Starry Steps Through the Forest", "Sky Pool on the Cliff", and "Nebula Playspace". " Each journey system is designed to encourage exploration into the valley and further into the central sunken garden. The overall spatial composition integrates functions with strong spatial narratives that provokes moods and emotions. The entire spatial experience leading to the center is a spiritual quest to make peace with oneself.
