Digital Intelligence Valley, Huang Hai

On the coast of Jiaodong, about 120 million years ago, volcanic eruptions spewed out pyroxene minerals that were stripped of their surface layers by the wind and rain, creating the layered geological wonders we see today.



When I was a kid, I used to see those oddly shaped, jagged rocks and often imagine what happened here many, many years ago - rushing magma flowing under tremendous pressure, gaining experience and improving. Isn't that similar to what happened with this project? We think this is the most suitable form of language for Rizhao Zhigu.



Driving through the high-tech zone, Zhigu is far away in the sky, with a wide and neat big road leading the way. Horizontal lines are either sparse or dense, deep or shallow, long or short, shadowed or highlighted, forming a delicate texture with the surrounding environment. Vertical grooves seem like cuts in the rock, cutting across the long lines, making the long lines change into clusters of volume, crowded and intimate.



Walking into the lobby, the second floor ceiling is a spacious space. Light gray and white wall tiles cover the entire space, appearing light and reflective in the split reflection of light. In the middle of the lobby is an elevator hall, above which is a metal folding curtain wall, similar to a jack in a cave, symbolizing the bearing of Shandong merchants. On the dark gray pavement, a light-colored band continues to extend, as if guiding the way forward. We compare the spatial sequence of this entrance to the story of the Peach Blossom Garden in ancient China, where the light on the other side of the shore of success can only be seen after the passage of time.



The design is highly integrated from the outside to the inside, forming a complete set of spatial intentions.
