Morning Field

The site is a B&B. The name, “Morning Field”, reflects the fact that the B&B is located in the middle of a field in Yilan, where one can enjoy both sunrise and sunset.
The designers adopted a minimalistic wabi-sabi style according to the potential of the space and the owner's needs. They preserved the original concrete structure of the building to show its original look. Through a precise mix of materials and colors, as well as the integration of modern style elements, the designers created a comfortable space suitable for a vacation. To break the limitations of the original space, they re-planned the circulation. For example, the kitchen island is removed from the living room to expand the space, the bathtub on the second floor is moved to a semi-outdoor area, and screen curtains and space tiles are installed to define a private pressure relief area.
