Curve Glass is an exploration of function, conceptualized with the idea to solve multiple existing problems with a simple intervention on a traditional form. Its defining feature, a slightly curved recess on the edge, brings more than initially expected. Curve Glass is instinctively held with the recess turned towards the user. If a straw is used, it is positioned the right way by gravity whenever the Glass is tilted for drinking or after stirring a drink. There is no need to touch or adjust the straw so the Glass can be held with only one hand, giving the user more freedom to enjoy a drink. The recess is minimal so the drink does not spill. If drinking without a straw, the user experiences a different and pleasant sensation when the lips touch the indentation. After washing, Curve Glass can be dried hygienically upside down, allowing leftover drops to evaporate without leaving unpleasant odor or mildew. The recess also keeps a spoon in place and opens possibilities to explore further usages like placing a piece of fruit or garnish for beverages and cocktails. An empty Curve Glass also subtly discourages smoking because a cigarette would not sit well on the recess.
