Phase Coffee Roasters

The project is a two-story house spanning 265 m², situated in an old town area of Taichung. It occupies what was once the busiest section of town. The sands of time have left their mark on the building. A rather long and narrow space is the home of Phase Coffee Roasters, which offers a place for meetings, gatherings, and simply chilling out. The concept is “adding new elements while remaining the existing, just like the location itself, historic area, mingling glory, decay and rebirth”
The bar area on the ground floor allows the bartender to interact with customers, while the atrium maximises sunlight into the house, providing a perfect space for gardening. The first floor aims to provide a relaxed atmosphere that achieves a sense of relaxation and comfort. The balance between the rough and rustic texture and the new elements hides stories. The natural light given customers a quiet and peaceful ambiance.
