The Ancient Kaifu Temple Buddhist History and Culture Exhibition Hall is situated in Changsha, China, adjacent to the Ancient Kaifu Temple with a millennial legacy. The design of its space infuses modern technology with traditional Buddhist culture, and exploits state-of-the-art display technology to showcase the history and culture of Buddhism. This immersive approach guides visitors to comprehend the aesthetic aspects of Buddhism. The exhibition hall maintains a highly consistent style, and predominantly applies gray texture paint to define the overall ambiance. The gray color accentuates the simplicity and solemnity of the ancient Buddhist culture, and reconciles with the modern minimalist design style. This reconciliation caters to the requirements of displaying modern technology and traditional culture. The pavilion maintains the traditional display, breaks the previous single display, and adds a canopy screen at the top of the Buddha wall. This nice touch integrates the canopy screen and the Buddha wall, showing the slow-moving blue sky and white clouds. It transcends the spatial limitations of traditional Buddha statue displays and visually blurs the boundaries between internal and external spaces. Leveraging scientific and technological methods, the pavilion enhances the sense of space from a psychological perspective, as if you were placed in open air. The canopy screen design not only extends physical space for visitors but also expands their experiences, minds, and cultural understanding. In the Dragon Scale Binding exhibition area, the Chinese character "Blessing" is dynamically displayed at the visual center through the holographic projection technology, corresponding to the name of the Kaifu Temple and breaking the spatial stagnation with modern technology. Additionally, the Kaifu Ruolan exhibition area features a "Blessing" hollow perspective wall that allows for dynamic transitions between outdoor and indoor lighting and shadows. This architectural design breaks spatial constraints and avoids a closed-off traditional exhibition space. It establishes a connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, delivering a sense of transparency and offering viewers a wider and more seamless visual experience. The connection between indoor and outdoor spaces and the sense of transparency provide viewers with a broader and more fluid visual experience.
